AI Sniper Systems at the LAC: Securing the Arunachal Border

  • Overview: The Indian Army has drastically upgraded security along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Today, they deployed AI-based autonomous sniper rifles and sentry guns across the Arunachal Pradesh border.
  • Key Points:
  • Auto Target Lock: These rifles are equipped with Artificial Intelligence and thermal cameras. They can instantly detect and lock onto enemy movements up to 2 kilometers away, even in thick fog or pitch darkness.
  • Zero Human Fatigue: Guarding freezing mountain borders causes severe fatigue for human soldiers. These robotic sentry guns monitor the border 24/7 without ever needing to sleep.
  • Remote Control Operation: Indian soldiers do not need to stand outside in the freezing cold. They can sit inside a safe, heated bunker and control these guns using a tablet or a joystick.
  • Force Multiplier: This technology saves manpower. Soldiers only need to physically respond when the AI system alerts them to a major border intrusion.
  • Q3. The boundary line that separates the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh from the Tibet region of China is historically known as the:
  1. Radcliffe Line
  2. Durand Line
  3. McMahon Line
  4. Maginot Line
